West Coast Swing Classes in Salt Lake City
Learn the basics, find your rhythm, and meet people to dance with. Our West Coast Swing classes help adults get started and keep improving through regular lessons, practice labs, and WestieHive socials.
No partner needed. Complete beginners are welcome in Intro classes and beginner bootcamps.

What Is West Coast Swing?
West Coast Swing, or WCS, is a partner dance built around connection and room to improvise. Dancers move along a shared line on the floor, called a slot, and adapt their steps to the music.
You’ll hear pop, blues, R&B, and more. In class, you’ll work on timing, partner communication, and patterns such as side passes, sugar pushes, and whips. As those become familiar, you can play with musical accents and your own styling.

Classes give you something to work on. Labs and socials give you time to try it with other dancers.

WestieHive Social
Start with the included beginner class, then stay for West Coast Swing social dancing. Come on your own or bring a friend; you don’t need a partner.
Free for current students
West Coast Swing Practice Labs
Repeat a pattern, work on your connection, and get more practice between classes. Check the live lab schedule for current sessions.
Beginner Pricing
Start with one class or choose a membership for regular practice. All prices are per person. Buying a pass does not reserve a class: complete registration in the schedule too.
Single Intro Class
$25 per person
One Intro class. No contract or automatic renewal.
Beginner Bootcamp
$60 per person
A focused session to learn and practice the basics. No contract or automatic renewal.
Limited Beginner Membership
$150 for 10 classes
Use for eligible Level 1 and approved Level 2 classes or beginner bootcamps. $15 per class when all 10 are used.
90-day expiration. Automatic renewal every 90 days.
Unlimited Beginner Membership
For frequent practice across styles. Includes Intro and Level 1 classes, beginner bootcamps, select socials, and practice labs.
Followers: $99/month
Monthly automatic renewal.
Leaders: $119 for the first month
Then $149/month with automatic renewal.
Leaders suggest movements; followers respond. Either role is open to anyone. Ask us if you’re unsure which role to choose.

Before Your First Class
Can I join if I’ve never danced?
Yes. Intro classes and beginner bootcamps start with the basics. You don’t need a partner or previous dance experience.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that let you move and turn. Arrive a few minutes early to check in at the front desk.
